Mahindra Alturas SUV revealed before launch – 5 Colours on offer, Rs 50k booking amt

Mahindra is all set to introduce the new Alturas SUV in India on 24th Nov. This new SUV called as the Y400 internally, will sit above the XUV500 in the company line-up. It will be the most powerful, luxury, and premium SUV ever launched by Mahindra till date.

The Mahindra Alturas will be available in two trims G2 and G4. G2 is the 2WD variant while the G4 is the 4WD variant. The full sized SUV will come with premium features and lavish interiors. Ahead of official launch, Mahindra has started accepting bookings of the new SUV at their m2all.com website for a sum of Rs 50,000. It is here all five colour options are also revealed.

Napoli Black

The five colours are – New Pearl White, Napoli Black, Drizzle Silver, Regal Blue, and Lake Side Brown. Borrowing styling from the SsangYong Rexton G4, the Mahindra Alturas SUV will boast of a new front grille with Mahindra badging, HID headlamps and LED DRLs and an electric sunroof. It will have a macho road presence, thanks to muscular styling all around, and high ground clearance. In some spy photos, the SUV looks as big as a truck on public road.

Interiors will sport the latest in driver and passenger comforts. It will get quilted leather upholstery on seats and door pads, dual tone dashboard with dark grey top portion and faux wood inserts in the center while the lower portion will be finished in brown. Alturas G4 will also get a 9.2” touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with smartphone connectivity while the screen also doubles up as display for its 360 degree camera.

Regal Blue

Safety features would include a total of 9 airbags, ABS and EBD offered as standard along with electric parking brake, hill hold assist and traction control. Offered exclusively in a 7 seater variant unlike the Rexton which is offered in 5 and 7 seater options, the Alturas from Mahindra will draw its power from a 2.2 liter e-XDi220 LET turbocharged diesel engine offering 187 PS power and 450 Nm torque via Mercedes sourced automatic gearbox.

Other highlights include automatic boot opening, keyless entry, start-stop button, 18 inch alloys, eletric parking brake, HID projector headlamps, sunroof, etc. Price is expected to be in the Rs 20-25 lakhs region. It will rival Toyota Fortuner and Honda CRV upon launch.
