Ever since they were revealed, Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e have been creating headlines after headlines. The latest headlines from BE 6 and XEV 9e are rather important ones as they signify the crashworthiness of both Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs. With 5 Stars bagged, both BE 6 and XEV 9e have created new records in crashworthiness ratings by Bharat NCAP.

Mahindra BE 6 Crash Ratings

The smaller of the two Electric Origin SUVs, BE 6 scored 5 Star crash ratings in both adult occupant safety tests and child occupant safety tests. Not just that, BE 6 has scored some of the highest Bharat NCAP crash rating scores and has secured top position alongside XEV 9e. These ratings apply to variants listed – One B59, Two B59, Three B59 and Three B79.

The vehicle tested was a BE 6 Three B79 (79 kWh) variant which had a gross vehicle weight of 2,415 kg. It came equipped with front and side airbags as standard, while knee airbag was optional. It scored a total of 31.97 / 32 points in adult occupant crash safety rating and 45 / 49 points in child occupant crash rating.

Mahindra XEV 9e Crash Ratings

Where crash ratings are concerned, XEV 9e scored slightly ahead of BE 6 in adult occupant crash ratings. XEV 9e bagged 5 Stars in both adult occupant crash rating and child occupant crash rating. These ratings apply to One B59, Two B59, Three B59 and Three B79 variants.

The vehicle tested by Bharat NCAP was an XEV 9e Three B79 variant and it has a rated gross weight of 2,492 kg. Just like BE 6, this variant of XEV 9e also came equipped with front and side airbags as standard along with an optional knee airbag. It scored 32 / 32 points in adult occupant crash safety ratings and 45 / 49 points in child occupant crash rating.
