Mahindra commences 2nd CKD operation outside India: Launches Scorpio Pik Up in Tunisia
This is the second CKD facility that will produce Mahindra vehicles outside India. The decision to enter Tunisia markets come following liberalization of Tunisian economy and other factors which have led to a conducive environment for these assembly operations to be carried out efficiently and economically. Mahindra Scorpio Pic-Up is contemporary in design and sturdy in stance. It is easy to maintain, low on operating cost and comes with all the comforts and features such as roomy cabin and additional cargo space demanded by buyers.
It is ideally suited for international markets and has already been successfully launched in markets of South America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. It is highly suited for African road conditions and has formed an instant attraction to buyers in the region. The company is also keen to introduce Scorpio Double Cab and other Mahindra vehicles in Tunisia eventually following the establishment of the Scorpio Pik-Up in Tunisia.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Ruzbeh Irani Chief Executive – International Operations, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors & Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. , said “Mahindra has carved a distinct niche for itself in markets across the globe with its unique combination of rugged utility and style. The increasing liberalisation of the Tunisian economy and automotive industry has created an environment which is conducive for assembly operations. Our partnership with ETS Zouari will help us tap this potential.”

It has been adapted for African road conditions and I am sure that the vehicle’s unique value proposition will appeal to customers in Tunisia.”
