The Reva G-Wiz (Reva-i) 2-seat electric car had a forgettable experience in the UK but the brand which is currently under Mahindra’s umbrella is all set to take a second stab at the British market. The Mahindra e2o electric city car is all set to be launched in London next month with prices starting under 13,000 pounds (around INR 12.53 lakhs).
Mahindra Reva which has its factory in Bangalore has selected London as its global launch pad for the electric car business outside India. Shortly after its London debut, the diminutive urban runabout would be launched in Bristol, Milton Keynes and Birmingham.
Talking to Evening Standard, Arvind Mathew, CEO, Mahindra Reva, stated that the company wants to make EV a run-of-the-mill thing rather than making it an elite product. He also added that the e2o is engineered to be a city commuter and not a long distance vehicle.
The Mahindra e2o targets young families in the UK who are looking for a second car. The 2-door 4-seater with extremely compact footprint is ideal for short city runs.
