The Mahindra e2o electric city car has been launched in the UK, its first overseas market, at a starting price of 12,995 pounds (around INR 12.27 lakhs). The top-end e2o TechX trim would set the buyers back by 15,995 pounds (around INR 15.16 lakhs).

The top-end TechX variant is available with leather seats and alloy wheels.

The car is propelled by an electric motor which puts out a modest 25.8 PS (19 KW) and 53.9 Nm of torque. Electricity source is a 48V maintenance free li-ion battery pack which is claimed to offer a range of 120 km under standard test conditions. The two-door 4-seat city car can attain a top-speed of 81 kmph. The drive is transferred to the wheels via an automatic transmission.

Mahindra says that e2o buyers who drive 7,900 miles (12,713 km) per year – the country’s average per capita car usage – and charge at home on Economy 7 tariff at night would incur a fuel expense of 10 pounds per month.
