Mahindra e2o Plus electric car receives a name which stands for ‘Energy to Oxygen and Plus’ promising zero emission, low running cost and efficient home charging. It receives superior styling features and increased range while it is pegged as a more practical family car than its 2 door e2o.
Mahindra e20 Plus is launched in three variants – P2, P4, P6 and P8. It is India’s only electric 4 door hatchback and falls into a price category of other hatchbacks such as the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo. Ideally suited for a small family of 4, the Mahindra e2o Plus is priced from INR 5.46 to INR 8.46 lakhs, after FAME susidies from government. Below is variant-wise price;

Identical in design to the current e2o, Mahindra e2o Plus is a four door model as against the two door e20. It gets a front grill as seen on Mahindra’s new SUVs while C Pillar gets extended to accommodate extra doors. Projector headlamp, rear spoiler and new LED tail lamps are also evident while interiors boast of a quality material, a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system and smartphone integration. It also gets navigation system and climate control.
Mahindra e2o Plus measures 3,590mm in length, 1,575mm in width and 1,585mm in height. It has ground clearance of 170mm and sits on a wheelbase of 2,258mm. Interior space is at a premium while boot space now stands at 135 liters. Mahindra e2o Plus commands unladen kerb weight of 939 kgs while gross weight stands at 1,259 kgs where the P2 to P6 is concerned going upto 991 kgs unladen kerb weight and 1,311 kgs gross weight on the top end P8 variant.
Sporting disc brakes in front and drum brakes at the rear, the Mahindra e2o Plus receives Mac Pherson Strut type independent suspension with coaxial spring in the front and Twin Pivot Trailing Arm with Coaxial spring Damper at the rear. It sits on 14” wheel rims fitted with 165/60/R14 tyres.
Charging the car can be done are via a 3 kW single phase 16 Amp charger which takes 6 hours on the P2, P4 and P6 variants and 9 hours on the P8 variant while fast charge via a 10kW 3 phase 32 Amp charger can be accomplished in 75 minutes and 90 minutes respectively. Top speed stands at 80 kmph on the 3 base variants going upto 85 kmph on the P8 while acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph is accomplished in 6.3 seconds and 5.2 seconds respectively.
Mahindra e2o Plus is the company fourth electric model following the e20, eVerito and recently launched eSupro passenger and goods carrier.
