With increased emphasis on vehicle pollution, deterioration of air quality in Delhi and ban on sale of diesel vehicles above 2000cc, besides introduction of policies like odd/even vehicle usage in the Capital, Mahindra and Mahindra introduces Mahindra eVerito at 2016 Auto Expo.
Seen in a design that is strikingly similar to the regular Mahindra Verito, the eVerito sports a similar electric motor setup as seen on the Mahindra e2o model. The motor can generate max power of 41 hp and 91 Nm torque. This pack can be fully charged in 7 hours and offers a range of 80 kms along with a top speed of 86 kmph (+/- 2).
Features on the new Mahindra Verito EV include a chrome front grille, and black honeycomb air dam. Sitting on alloy wheels, the EV sports dual colored ORVMs while black strips on roof are also evident. At the rear, one sees a chrome strip above license plate and creases on boot lid. Interiors also follow the same design as the regular Verito model with some modifications seen on the instrument cluster. Interiors space, comfort features and upholstery see no change on the Mahindra Verito EV and are as seen on the regular Verito.
Set for launch in the country sometime later this year, price of the Mahindra Verito EV could be in the range of INR 8-9 lakh. The Verito EV could also benefit from FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric vehicles) scheme which includes subsidies on electric vehicles.
