Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited (MTWL) will be conducting media rides of their new automatic scooter in Lavasa on 12th of this month. It is believed that at this event, the company also plans to announce the official launch of their new flagship scooter.
New Mahindra Gusto 125 (codenamed G108) will be powered by a 125 cc M-TEC single cylinder engine. This engine is basically a larger displacement version of the 109.6cc M-TEC engine which is currently seen on the existing Gusto 110. Tweaked to deliver performance, the new 125 cc mill is expected to be more peppy than the 110 cc.
The 110 cc engine delivers 9 PS at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The new 125 cc engine is expected to deliver 10 PS power and 10.5 Nm torque. Expect fuel efficiency claims to be in the region of 60 kmpl.
The new Gusto 125 will be based on the same Gusto platform which has been developed exclusively by Mahindra. Once launched, this new Mahindra scooter will compete against Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access. Mahindra Gusto 125 is expected to feature the same design elements as seen on the existing Gusto 110. To set the more powerful Gusto apart, it might offer a new 125 badge and new colour options.
