The Mahindra Gusto automatic scooter is all set to receive a new top-end variant with disc brake. A prototype sporting the safety feature (not visible in the spy shot) has been spotted testing by Indiancarsbikes.in in Pune where the company’s R&D facility is located. The red on-test numberplate serves as a further proof that a new variant is cooking.
Expected to be launched in the coming months, the Mahindra Gusto disc brake variant is likely to be available in both 110 cc and 125 cc avatars. The new variant is expected to be based on the existing top-end variant which packs first-in-class features like remote flip key, height adjustable seat, anti-theft system, find-me lamps and guide-me-home lamps. A disc brake would be accompanied by a price hike in the tune of INR 2,000.
The 110 cc variant is good for 8 bhp and 9 Nm of torque while the 125 cc variant is capable of 8.5 bhp and 10 Nm of torque. Both models employ a CVT to harness the outputs.

The Mahindra Gusto twins are visually differentiated from each other by means of color themes. The 125 cc model sports dual-tone theme with sporty decals while the smaller engined version makes do with simple single color paint job with no decals.
