Mahindra Jeeto (P601) to get new m_Dura diesel engine, launch on 24th June (Update)
Mahindra Jeeto which has been testing extensively for the past several months is getting ready to be launched soon. The sub-Maxximo Plus cargo carrier will be the first vehicle to roll out from the company’s new Zahirabad facility.
To be pitted against strong selling Tata Ace Zip which surpassed 1 lakh production milestone earlier this year, Jeeto is expected to have a payload capacity somewhere between 600-700 kg. Without divulging much details, Mahindra has announced that its upcoming LCV will be powered by a new m_Dura Direct Injection (DI) diesel engine which is claimed to offer refined performance and efficiency.
Mahindra says that the name Jeeto epitomizes the vehicle’s winning streak and its ability to bring prosperity to its owner. The vehicle will cater to last mile intra-city goods transportation.
Design wise, Jeeto adopts an interesting front fascia design with dumb bell shaped headlamps which are connected by a logo-carrying psuedo grille. Interior features dashboard-mounted gear lever and bits carried over from Maxximo.
In addition to Mahindra Jeeto, the Indian automaker is also working on a heavy-duty version of Maxximo Plus to compete with Tata Super Ace. Both new models would play a crucial role in expanding Mahindra’s market share in LCV segment which is poised to register impressive growth in the coming years.
