Priced from R 1,49,995 to R 197,995 (INR 6,48 lakh to INR 8,55 lakh), new Mahindra KUV 100 is being offered in three trim levels, with an option of either a petrol or a diesel engine.
Mahindra KUV 100 is launched through Mahindra’s South African subsidiary. It is the smallest and the most affordable vehicle in the company’s product range. Mahindra hopes that it will attract the attention of a young and adventurous audience and offer the company a larger market share.
Mahindra KUV100 in South Africa is being offered in three trim levels – K4+, K6+ and K8. While K4+ is presented with a petrol engine, K6+ and K6 will receive both petrol and diesel engine options. Engine options include G80 1.2 liter mFalcon petrol engine and G75 1.2 liter mFlacon diesel engine.
While the former is capable of 82 bhp power and 115 Nm torque, the diesel engine produces 77 bhp power and 190 Nm torque. Both engines are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission powering its front wheels.
The African spec model is similar to the one offered in India. Where dimensions are concerned, it measures 3,675mm in length, 1,715mm in width and 1,655mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase measuring 2,385mm while ground clearance stands at 170mm.
On board features offered as standard on the South African spec Mahindra KUV100 includes follow me home / lead me to vehicle lights along with daytime running lights and foglamps at the front and rear. The model sits on alloy wheels while safety features include ABS with EBD, engine start stop system and dual front airbags. Interiors boast of a two toned finish with piano black inserts, 3.5” display screen and infotainment system and built in driver information system.
