New Mahindra KUV100 facelift spied on test for the first time

Mahindra KUV100 was first launched in January 2015. A compact SUV in the sub 4 meter segment, KUV100 is the first Mahindra SUV to get a petrol engine in Inida. Nearing its mid-life cycle, Mahindra has started working on a facelift variant.

Upcoming Mahindra KUV100 facelift has been spied testing near Chennai. Though under heavy camouflage, various updates on its exterior were evident. The upcoming Mahindra KUV100 will get a new front grille design, smaller headlamps and new front bumper. It will also get new fog lamp enclosures and new 15” alloy wheels. Other exterior updates will also include an extended A Pillar, detailing on tail lamp and extended wheel arches.

Though interiors of the soon to be launched Mahindra KUV100 Facelift were not spied, we guess they too could receive some updates in terms of convenience and safety. The company is said to have extended the XUV’s aesthetic appeal and given interiors more comfort features.

Basic interior design will remain unchange. The facelift will continue with the 3+3 seating configuration. For comfort, both front and rear passengers have centre arm rests. It also has illuminated key hole, power windows, Piano Black central console and multifunction steering wheel. The drivers seat receives height adjustment feature while infotainment is in the form of 4 speakers and 2 tweeters.

Mahindra and Mahindra will continue to offer the KUV100 with a 1.2 liter G80 mFalcon petrol engine offering 82 bhp power and a1.2 liter D65 mFalcon diesel engine offering 77 bhp power. Both these engines will be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. In terms of fuel efficiency, the diesel engine offers 25.32 kmpl, thus making it one of the most fuel efficient vehicles on sale in the country as on date.

No pricing details were also revealed but the current KUV100 is priced from INR 4.58 lakhs to INR 7.36 lakhs. Expect pricing to remain more or less same. Mahindra and Mahindra is also working on TUV500, SsangYong Tivoli based S201, XUV700.
