First Mahindra SUV to get a petrol engine in India.

Mahindra KUV100 is all-set for its on 15th January 2015. At a dealer yard recently, the car was was spied completely undisguised, revealing interesting new updates on the yet to be launched compact SUV.

Exteriors of Mahindra KUV100 will sport a unique set of headlamps with follow me home lamps, LED DRLs and turn indicators. The front will also be seen with a black plastic cladded bumper, an airdam and large silver skid plate. On the sides, black underbody plastic cladding is evident while at the rear flared wheel arches and a set of twin 6 spoke alloy wheels are seen. The KUV100 also gets body colored bumpers, electric ORVMs and roof mounted antenna with front door puddle lamps.

Coming in a 3+3 seating configuration, both front and rear passengers have centre arm rests. It also has illuminated key hole, power windows, Piano Black central console and multifunction steering wheel. The drivers seat receives height adjustment feature while infotainment is in the form of 4 speakers and 2 tweeters.

Engine specifications on board the Mahindra KUV100 will include an mFalcon 1.2 liter VVT petrol engine offering 82 hp peak power and an mFalcon 1.2 liter turbocharged diesel engine offering 77 hp power. Both engines are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. AMT option will not be launched, but has been confirmed for launch at a later date.

To be launched in the sub 4 meter segment, the Mahindra KUV100 – with KUV standing for ‘Kool Utility Vehicle’ will be positioned below the recently launched TUV300. Expected starting price of KUV100 is at INR 4 lakh and thus it will compete with the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Wagon-R.
