A Team-bhp forum member who goes by the name ‘iamhunter’ has come up with a rendering of what he calls as the Mahindra KUV100 Sports. The rendering proves that the latest Mahindra’s appearance can be easily spruced up with a few minor touches.
A close observation shows that none of the body panels have been tweaked, neither is a sporty body kit added virtually. The sportier stance has been achieved by merely adding red accents to the grille and wheels. The designer has also blacked out the alloys wheels to achieve an enhanced appeal.
Mahindra could be having its own line of accessories and value added visual enhancements in mind for its most affordable UV. The brand’s second crossover (first being the XUV500) will be launched on January 15 with an objective of luring prospective customers away from B-segment hatchbacks.
The KUV100 will be powered by two brand-new 1.2-litre three-cylinder engines branded as mFalcon. The G80 petrol mill produces 82 bhp and 114 Nm of torque while the D75 oil burner is capable of 77 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard across the range although an AMT is expected down the line.
The Mahindra KUV100 will be built at the firm’s Chakan plant near Pune. Expect the prices to start below INR 4.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
