Rise in demand for Mahindra KUV100 has resulted in its waiting period climbing from just 2 weeks to 2 months in only 15 days! Though a bit early to talk about the car’s success in the industry, the initial response is nothing but impressive.
Available in a choice of 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options, Mahindra KUV100 is a new-age compact SUV designed to attract first-time car buyers in the age group of 25-35 years. The price of petrol KUV100 ranges from INR 4.42 lakh – INR 5.91 lakh, while that of the diesel KUV100 ranges from INR 5.22 lakh – INR 6.76 lakh.
This pricing allows Mahindra to compete with a segment filled with hatchbacks and entry level sedans – the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Dzire, Hyundai Grand i10, etc. This segment usually sees sales of over 60,000 units on a monthly basis. And with Mahindra being a first-time entrant in this segment with an all-new product, it sure makes things interesting.

Speaking about the demand of KUV100, in most of the cities the K6 and top of the line K8 variants are most in demands. Surprisingly, demand for the 3+3 seating arrangement variant is not as high as the company expected. This could be attributed to the buyer sentiment who would think that a 3+3 seater variant is not as upmarket as the conventional 2+3 seating variant.
