Mahindra Marazzo gets connectivity update – Apple CarPlay for existing and new owners

Marazzo has been engineered in collaboration between Mahindra North America Technical Centre (MNATC) and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. It is offered in a 7 and 8 seater configuration. It is the most advanced and connected Mahindra car till date.

Veejay Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., “With the introduction of Apple CarPlay, the Marazzo becomes even more desirable for customers who wish to stay connected. The inclusion of Apple CarPlay bolsters Marazzo’s already-strong suite of connectivity features that include Android Auto, GPS-enabled Navigation, Mahindra’s Bluesense App and Emergency Call function.”

New Mahindra Marazzo is powered by a 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder diesel engine from the mFalcon series of engines. The engine offers 130 bhp power and gets mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox while an automatic gearbox will be introduced later. Talks are also on for launch of a petrol as well as AMT variant.

Mahindra Marazzo, which competes with the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova is priced from Rs 9.99 lakhs for the base M2 variant while the M4 variant is priced at Rs 10.95 lakhs, M6 at Rs 12.40 lakhs and top of the line M8 is priced at Rs 13.90 lakhs. The latest Apple CarPlay update is only offered with the top end M8 variant.

Mahindra and Mahindra also plan two other launches in 2018 with the Ssangyong Tivoli-based compact SUV which will compete against the Tata Nexon, and Maruti Brezza. It will also launch the new Mahindra badged Ssangyong Rexton to rival Toyota Fortuner. It is expected to be named as Inferno or XUV700.

These three new cars are expected to add about 8,000 to 10,000 units of sales monthly to the company’s total sales. Marazzo is off to a decent start, as it has garnered 10,000 bookings in about 45 days since launch. It remains to be seen how the Marazzo performs in the future, especially when the launch of new Maruti Ertiga is so near (21st November).
