Mahindra Marazzo rear ends a truck – Airbags deploy, passengers safe

With the launch of Mahindra Marazzo, the Indian automaker was able to bring to the fore a locally made MPV that was awarded 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP soon after launch.

A rating like this goes a long way in generating public interest where its due rather than potential customers being left in a state of confusion in trying to determine whether or not their next purchase checks all the safety boxes.

The Global NCAP 4-star rating for adult occupation protection is certainly a great start for Mahindra Marazzo, and through the 6 months since launch, the new MPV has been securing stronger sales volumes.

Recently, Manoj SG Rao shared a video of a Mahindra Marazzo which had rear ended a truck on Nice Road in Bangalore. This is what he had to say – “Happened on Nice rd Bangalore. Mahindra Marrazzo build quality and airbags saved everyone. Co passenger and driver had minor facial injuries but were shifted to ICU on wheels immediately.”

Mahindra Marazzo safety score found a solid base in standard double airbags, ABS, seatbelt reminders (SBR) for driver and ISOFIX anchorages. Mahindra Marazzo MPV safety features also include an energy absorbing steering column, 3-pt seatbelts for all occupants, Crash Locking Tongue & Pre-tensioning and load limiting technology for front occupants, high strength occupant protection cage structure, Low speed bumper protection against parking lot type accidents, Laminated front glass, Front crash sensors, and engineered door trims to minimize injuries in side impact.

Mahindra Marazzo was launched last year. It has in fact helped breathe life into the company’s product portfolio by expanding beyond the SUV realm. And that’s not the only upside. Marazzo sales has grown steadily and helped maintained sales momentum.

Just last month, Mahindra reported Marazzo sales at 2,881 units. In fact, Marazzo sales has climbed to 4th place on the list where Mahindra cars are concerned.
