Mahindra to open exclusive dealerships for Mojo, launch two new motorcycles

To improve their brand perception, Mahindra Two Wheelers entered in the 300 cc segment with the flagship Mojo motorcycle. But, in spite of being an expensive / premium offering, the Mojo was sold alongside the entry level Mahindra Two Wheeler offerings, at the same dealership.

In order to change that, Car And Bike reveals that the company is now working towards offering a range of premium and exclusive dealerships for their Mojo customers only. It is not yet clear as to when these dealerships will be functional.

Two New Mojo’s

Apart from the Mojo, these new dealerships will also be home to the upcoming new Mahindra motorcycles based on the Mojo. Mahindra has confirmed that they will launch at least two new motorcycles based on the Mojo. In addition to this, the company is also working on a more affordable variant of the Mojo (minus the dual exhaust, USD, Pirelli, etc).

Speaking about the two new motorcycles based on the Mojo – it could be the two concepts which were showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.

Adventure or Scrambler?

Last year, Mahindra Two Wheelers showcased adventure tourer and scrambler design concepts based on their Mojo. Speaking about the Mahindra Mojo Adventure Tourer Concept that was showcased at Auto Expo, the blue off-roader concept looks nothing like the donor model save for the fuel tank and the twin-tubes underneath it.

Armed with long travel suspension system, spoke wheels, off-road tyres, vertically staked projector headlamps, knuckle guards and a massive ground clearance, the Mojo Adventurer tourer concept clearly prioritizes capability over form. The motorcycle loses its tailpiece apart from getting a custom seat and provisions for luggage and water can. Technical specifications have not been discussed.

The second concept which was showcased by Mahindra was the Scrambler concept. It is another example of how the Mojo platform can be reconfigured. Adopting a traditional design, the Mojo Scrambler too retains the regular motorcycle’s fuel tank and twin tunes as far as bodywork go. A contrast brown leather seat, cantilevered tail, minimal twin LED taillights, single sided silencer, and red-finished brake calipers are the highlights. The concept motorcycle also gets a new handlebar with inversely mounted rear view mirror and a jig-like holder to mount your mobile phone. The front fender, instrument console and headlamp are new too.
