Mahindra Nuvosport (Quanto facelift) spied fully

The Mahindra Nuvosport breaks the company’s popular tradition of coming up with nameplates that end with the letter ‘O’. The Nuvosport is essentially the rechristened and redesigned version of the Quanto which has been testing extensively. Finally, the sub-4 metre ladder frame UV was spotted without any camouflage.

The Nuvosport features a complete new front fascia which may not be to everybody’s liking. The angular headlamps, hexagonal grille, French beard-like secondary airdam, silver skid plate and bonnet scoop may be conventional but the eyebrow-like LED daytime running lights are certainly not.

Save for the added black plastic cladding on the lower body and wheel arches, changes to the profile are non-existent. The rear fascia too has been retained largely untouched but the new spare wheel cap, black bumper and smoked combination lamps bring in some fresh appeal.

We expect the interior to undergo minor improvements in addition to new color theme and seat fabrics. The Quanto’s seating configuration with jump seats are expected to be carried forward. So the Nuvospot is a 7-seat SUV. In terms of features, the refreshed UV is reported to offer first-in-class features like cruise control and touchscreen infotainment system.

Overdrive.in reports that the Mahindra Nuvosport would be powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder mHawk 100 petrol engine. The 1.5-litre three-cylinder mill would continue to be the diesel engine option. The oil burner could be offered with AMT.

The emergence of fully revealing photographs strongly indicate that the Quanto will be launched anytime soon. Expect it to be positioned slightly above the TUV300.
