Mahindra India has revealed the Adventure Calendar for Season 3. Mahindra Adventure is a unique concept of getting people involved in off roading, adventure,and motorsport. Recently the brand made its debut at the INRC and fared quite well in most challenges. Mahindra Off-Road Training Academy is a 28-acre training centre at Igatpuri dedicated to 4WD vehicles and off-roading.
Participants can choose from 3 courses, Basic (Getting Dirty), Intermediate (Trail Survivor), and Expert (Global Explorer). Courses can be booked online. Based on a course selected, participants will be trained in 4WD theory (part-time 4WD/full-time 4WD), Components of a 4WD system, Off-roading do’s and don’ts, Use of off-road equipment, Terrain-specific driving techniques, and Emergency repairs. Training vehicles comprise of a fleet of customised Mahindra Thar 4x4s complete with radio sets.
The calendar reveals dates for off road events, multi day expeditions and Mahindra challenges. Through these events participants will be able to unleash the power of their machines, explore scenic and exotic places as also gain a vital understanding of 4WD vehicles and requisite systems.
Mahindra Adventure Challenge (MAC) – Intercontinental 2013 was also launched by the brand. Though this initiative, Mahindra aims to promote off-roading on a global platform by giving a chance to eight automobile magazines to traverse places in Italy, Australia, Chile, Kenya, Spain, Sri Lanka, South Korea and Nepal. Mahindra has also launched the Mahindra Off-Road Training Academy to educate individuals on aspects pertaining to off road driving.
The Great Escape, a single day off roading event is held at cities across India and allows participants to test Mahindra’s 4×4 vehicles strength and endurance capabilities on diverse terrain. With 3 new locations added Shillong, Hyderabad and Ooty, the experience will now be offered in 10 cities pan India.
Multi-Day expeditions include the 10 day Monastery Escape, 6 day Royal Escape, Tri- Nation Escape (Bhutan, India & Nepal- 14 days) and 4 day Authentic Goa event bringing Adventure/Driving experience to more and more people. Mahindra 4 day Spice Challenge and 4 day Monsoon Challenge are TSD (Time Speed Distance) rallies.
Team Mahindra Adventure’s INRC Debut in the 2013 South India Rally resulted in a INSUVRC (Indian National SUV Rally Championship) class win, and looks forward to the remainder of this season’s INRC rallies apart from the Raid de Himalaya and Desert Storm. Team Mahindra Adventure comprises of national rally drivers Gaurav Gill, Sunny Sidhu and Lohit Urs.
