Undergoing testing in India, Mahindra Quanto AMT has been spotted once again. This time, the photographer managed to click the interiors, giving us first ever interior images of Quanto AMT on test.
Images reveal a new steering wheel design, along with a few cosmetic changes incorporated into its interior makeup. Mahindra Quanto AMT will see no changes in engine specs and will continue to be powered by a 1.5 liter three cylinder diesel engine offering 100 bhp peak power at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm torque at between 1,600-2,800 rpm.
The new Quanto also sees a 5 speed transmission developed by Mahindra in alliance with UK based Ricardo. This system uses an advanced ECU resulting in more efficiency where changing of gears is concerned due to its hydraulic actuation system. The Quanto AMT with regenerative braking system, thereby saving upto 40 liters of fuel per annum. Compared to the existing Quanto, which is powered by a 1.5l 3 cyl diesel engine, which delivers 17.21 kmpl, the AMT variant is expected to be more fuel efficient.
Mahindra Quanto AMT sports a new colour and could receive autoshift badges on front doors which were also noted on the model on display at the Auto Expo. Besides the new Quanto AMT, Mahindra and Mahindra is also planning a new generation Bolero and new compact SUV S101 which could roll out from the company plant by next year.
