Mahindra S101 AMT spied; dashboard, centre console revealed
Mahindra S101 has long been on the anvil, yet it plies with camouflage all over, even inside. Latest spy shot however caught the dashboard of the upcoming compact crossover with exposed centre console, gear rod and steering wheel.
Dashboard of Mahindra S101 adopts traditional grey colour as base, and gets black and silver trims for contrast. Everything about the dashboard except centre console seems to be customary, from twin rectangular AC vents to single-binnacle instrument cluster with silver lip.
Centre console is rather unique, with multi-button multimedia player below the air-con vents with a small screen, and vertically stacked AC control knobs taking up almost thee-fourths of the cluster’s space. That is because, on its right sprouts the gear-rod, which is difficult to read in this spy shot.
The transmission system according to the source is clearly an AMT unit. The front bench is also confirmed on several occasions, and beneath the centre console a traditional tunnel is avoided, probably to free up space for three upfront. It is unclear if Mahindra S101 will be certified to allow 3+3 occupants, if it did, it could win with the practicality perspective.
