Despite being an entry level compact SUV, the new XUV300 will receive outstanding features. It will be seen with a massive toothed front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and LED tail lamps. It will also receive electrically adjustable ORVMs and will sit on larger wheels as compared to the 15” wheels seen on its outgoing model.

Interiors will be seen in a black and beige color scheme with leather upholstery and door liners while it will also sport a multi function steering wheel, automatic climate controls and an updated infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. To comply with new Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program, the XUV300 will come in with dual front airbags, ABS and EBD as standard. It will also receive ISOFIX child seat mounts and reverse parking sensors.

Mahindra S201 SUV could receive high performance 1.2 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engines, both of which will be turbocharged. The 1.2 liter petrol engine is expected to offer 130 bhp power making it a segment topper while the 1.5 liter diesel engine will offer 123 bhp power at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm torque at 1,650 rpm.

Both engines get mated to 6 speed manual gearbox while AMT options could follow later. In view of these added features and increased performance, price of the new XUV300 could also be higher, in the range of Rs 7-11 lakhs.
