Mahindra Scorpio with XUV500’s 140 bhp engine spied undisguised ahead of launch tomorrow
More powerful and sporty looking variant of the Mahindra Scorpio is ready for launch.
Mahindra will launch an updated version of the Scorpio SUV in a few days. This is the first update since the current Scorpio was launched in 2014. Spied on test on multiple occasions, the new Scorpio is now spied in a production ready format.
The new Scorpio will come with revised tail lamp cluster with red tint stop lamp glass taking the place of the clear lens glass seen on its current counterpart. From tomorrow, the car will be launched across the country. Price too will be revealed tomorrow.
Updated exterior features also include new LED DRLs, glossy finish on the grille, smoked headlamps, new foglamp housing, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, etc. Interiors of the Scorpio Facelift will see fresh cabin comforts with a new color scheme and upholstery options. It will get a new 7” touchscreen with Connected Apps and Ecosense, auto air conditioning and safety features among which will be dual front airbags, ABS and a 4WD system.
Speaking about the bump in power, the 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engine will continue to power the new Scorpio facelift though tweaked for extra power and performance. The 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engine will offer 140 bhp power and 320 Nm torque, up from the current 120 bhp, mated to a 5 speed manual or 6 speed AT. This is the same engine and transmission setup which we have seen on the current Mahindra XUV500.
In order to set the performance standard higher in their flagship XUV500, Mahindra will be rolling out an updated XUV500 with an even more powerful engine than it is currently offered. This will help the XUV to take on the newly launched Jeep Compass and the Tata Hexa.
