Today, Mahindra announced the official launch of the Scorpio Automatic variant. We have updated the original story which was published about two weeks ago by adding the news release and photo of the gear lever.

Mahindra Scorpio AT will be powered by 2,179cc, 4 cylinder mHawk diesel engines offering 120 bhp peak power at 4,000 rpm and 280 Nm torque at 1,800-2,800 rpm. The Scorpio AT will be seen with Automatic badges on its tail gate and at sides of the vehicle to tell Scorpio AT and Manual Transmission variants apart.
Being offered in 7 and 8 seater variants, Mahindra Scorpio Automatic get features such as touchscreen infotainment system, climate control and cruise control. Projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, new radiator grille, body colored handles and 17” alloy wheels will also be evident while infotainment will be in the form of CD, DVD, USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity.
Scorpio AT will also receive a 6” touchscreen infotainment system, voice assist system and GPS navigation along with rain and light sensors. Where added safety equipment on board Mahindra Scorpio AT variants are concerned, dual front airbags, ABS, EBD and anti-theft system along with engine immobilizer are to be seen.
Price – on road
The Mahindra Scorpio S10 2WD AT will be priced at INR 15.49 lakhs while the S10 4WD AT will have a price tag of INR 16.92 lakhs. Dealers have opened bookings at a down payment of INR 50,000 with deliveries promised in the next 45 days.
Mahindra Scorpio AT will compete with upcoming Hyundai Creta diesel automatic, as there are not many diesel automatic options in this segment.
