After a lot of waiting, the Scorpio facelift was finally launched in India. But there are many 2017 Edition Scorpio, which have not been sold and are lying at dealer yards. It is these unsold Mahindra Scorpio’s which are being offered at huge discounts and benefits.
Many Mahindra dealers across India, who have these in stock, are selling the 2017 made Scorpio for a discount of as much as Rs 1.1 lakh. On top of this, they are also offering benefits like free accessories, free insurance, etc.
But, if you are buying the old Scorpio, what are you going to miss? How different is the old Scorpio from the new one which is currently on sale? Well, not much. Featuring a more powerful engine than before, the new 2018 Mahindra Scorpio was more of an update, rather than a facelift. The changes were not major, but they definitely added to the Scorpio’s enhanced styling.
It featured a new front fascia, new grill design, redesigned headlamps and modified fog lamps were evident while at the sides, new 16” alloy wheels are a part of these changes. The rear end does not receive any upgrades except for a new tail lamp.
No interior updates were give in terms of design, but the 2018 Scorpio gets new color scheme, upholstery and trims. It is also seen with an upgraded 7” touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, EcoSense and Connected apps borrowed from the new Mahindra XUV500.
The biggest change you might miss, is the more powerful engine. Yes, the new Scorpio now comes with a 2.2 liter 140 hp mill. This too is not much of a miss, if you are not going to buy the top end variant. Only the top end variant of the 2018 Scorpio comes with this 140 hp engine, while all other variants continue with the 2.2 liter 120 hp engine, same as the one which was on offer with 2017 Scorpio.
This makes the old 2017 Scorpio discount offer a very good one. Unfortunately, Mahindra has not release an official list as to where these old Scorpio’s are on sale. If you are interested in taking up the offer, you will have to call up your nearby Mahindra dealer and find out if there are any unsold Scorpio SUVs with them.
