Mahindra Scorpio N, launched last year has been a resounding success story for the automaker. It has been well received by customers and as demand increases, so does the waiting period – which extends to upto 18 months.
Mahindra Scorpio N is offered in five variants of Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8 L and in 6 and 7 seater configurations. While the company initially paid more attention to the top of the line Z8L variant, deliveries of the Z6 have now commenced. We draw your attention to the exterior and interior makeup of this mid-spec variant and what it gains over the base Z2 and Z4 trim and what it misses out when compared with the Z8 and Z8L. Mahindra Scorpio N Z6 – Exteriors and Interiors
Scorpio N Z6 mid variant gets silver inserts on its front grille while the new Twin Peaks logo is in the center. It gets halogen headlamps, as against auto headlamps seen on the higher trims. LED indicators are seen on its ORVMs. The ORVMs are not auto folding and have to be folded manually. The Z6 trim also lacks fog lamps, DRLs and rain sensing wipers.
The side profile is dominated by crease lines and silver inserts along with body coloured door handles but no window linings. It rides on 17 inch steel wheels with wheel covers. Scorpio N Z6 also sports an electric sunroof and silver finished roof rails. ADRENOX lettering in silver finish indicates its connected features that are seen in its interiors.
Design elements to the rear show off a rear spoiler, LED tail lamps with indicator and rear wiper, washer and defogger along with a shark fin antenna and four parking sensors. The dual tone interiors in brown and black get hard plastic finish while it misses out of soft touch lining on doors and dashboard.
Feature loaded – Most value for money Scorpio N variant?
The driver seat is height adjustable with manual lumbar support. Rear seats receive head rests while features also include a large 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control and steering mounted controls. The steering wheel is adjustable but gets no telescopic option. Storage space is seen below the arm rest while space for the bottle holder is provided on the central console.
Mahindra Scorpio N Z6 variant gets safety equipment via dual airbags (top spec variants get 6 airbags), hill hold assist, hill descent control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ABS, EBD and ESC along with three drive modes of Zip, Zap and Zoom.
Mahindra Scorpio N Z6 is powered only by a 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engine. This engine makes 172 hp power and 370 Nm torque mated to 6 speed manual, while torque figures go up to 400 Nm with an automatic transmission option. Priced aggressively, the Scorpio N Z6 is one of the most value for money variant on offer.
