Mahindra Global Pik Up concept was unveiled a couple of years ago and it showcased the company’s approach towards its upcoming global pickup truck. A production-spec version of this pickup truck is under development and is expected to be positioned on the Scorpio N SUV facelift, which is also under testing.
Latest test mule spy shots of Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up by Vroomvroom MJ are some of the clearest and reveal significantly more details than previous set of spy shots. These details are from both exterior and interior, giving us a hint at what to expect if Mahindra makes it available in the Indian market. Let’s take a closer look.
Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up Spy Shots
Renowned SUV manufacturer, Mahindra Auto, is working on a pickup truck version of Scorpio N, which is also set to receive a major facelift. The latest spy shots of this upcoming pickup truck are some of the clearest till date, showing us expected features, creature comforts and equipment on this vehicle.
For starters, this is a double cab 4-door model and there is a single-cab 2-door model under testing as well. The LED headlights are still not finalized and these test mules continue to get makeshift ones. Same is the case with rear tail lights too. Wheels, on the other hand, look like they are finalized.
Looking closer, we can see that these are 18-inchers and are wrapped with fat 255-section tyres for off-road traction and a macho look. Tyre size is the same as its SUV counterpart and wheel design looks similar to the ones seen with upcoming Scorpio N facelift. There are disc brakes on all-four corners, something both Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross lack.
New Interiors
On the inside, things get even more interesting as Scorpio Pik Up spied, showing a hint of a sunroof, albeit a single-pane one. We can see a similar dashboard layout as upcoming Scorpio N facelift including the new larger free-standing infotainment screen. Dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, ventilated seats and a possible TFT cluster.
All of these features are missing on Hilux and V-Cross. Other notable elements seen with these spy shots are front and rear armrest, rear AC vents and an auto-dimming IRVM, among others. Powering the Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up could be the same 2.2L Diesel engine as Scorpio N with up to 450 Nm of peak torque, mated to manual gearbox and a 4X4 transfer case. Automatic gearbox could be offered too.
Mahindra Auto, seems to have a habit of taking steps which the auto industry considers risky and bold. One of those steps was to revive India’s lifestyle SUV segment with the launch of Thar in 2020 and then extend the success further with Thar Roxx. Now, Mahindra seems to be taking similar steps with pickup truck segment. A launch timeline is not known, but 2026 could be the year for Mahindra’s re-entry in India’s pickup truck space.
