Mahindra Scorpio SUV stings competition: Iconic SUV annual sales at 50,000+ units for FY 2011-12
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) has reached yet another milestone. This time the Scorpio SUV takes top honours having recorded its highest ever annual sales. Sales numbers stand at 50,844 units during FY 2011-12 when compared to 43,451units in FY 2010-11, and equates to 17% sales growth for the vehicle.
On Facebook, the Scorpio is charting its own popularity graph with 1 million plus fans and stands to be amongst the largest online auto communities on Facebook India. Interest in the car is visible through activity on the Scorpio YouTube channel that has been viewed 1.5 million times.
The Scorpio fascination is further supported through a range of fan clubs by customers in the virtual and real world. The FY ending in March 2012 achievement marks the Scorpio’s highest ever annual sales since inception, and that is truly telling. Keeping in mind that a myriad of vehicle lose their popularity over the years, after all these years the Scorpio SUV is still moving from strength to strength.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), India’s leading SUV manufacturer, today announced that its iconic SUV, the Scorpio, achieved yet another milestone when it recorded its highest ever annual sales since inception. With sales of 50,844 units during FY 2011-12 as against 43,451units during FY 2010-11, the Mighty Muscular Scorpio registered a growth of 17%.
The Scorpio’s iconic status can also be gauged from its 1 million plus fan base on Facebook, yet another significant milestone. In fact, the Scorpio’s online community on Facebook is one of the largest online auto communities on Facebook India. The brand’s popularity is also evident on the Scorpio YouTube channel which has garnered almost 1.5 million views. The magic of the Scorpio is further seen in the array of impromptu fan clubs initiated by customers in the virtual and real world over the years.
