Mahindra introduces special finance schemes for COVID-19 caretakers

The Indian automaker has introduced benefits worth over Rs 65,000 for frontline caretakers and service providers in the fight against COVID-19

Mahindra & Mahindra group has announced special finance schemes and benefits for front-end staff involved in India’s fight against COVID-19. In addition to providing various support initiatives to doctors, nurses, paramedics, government officials and police force, the company is extending the services to journalists, media professionals, railway staff, airline staff and a few more departments that are working tirelessly to keep ‘essential services’ operational.

If we consider the Mahindra XUV300 W8 petrol variant, COVID-19 caretakers can avail benefits worth up to Rs 66,500 in total. These schemes are offered through popular financial institutions that may vary depending on the local dealership. Mahindra & Mahindra has shared all the details of the new support initiatives on its social media handles under the hashtag, #mahindra4covidcaretakers.

Speaking about the exclusive benefits for COVID-19 staff, Veejay Nakra, CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra group’s automotive division, stated that India’s “frontline and essential service providers” are doing a commendable job in their respective fields of expertise, just like anywhere across the globe. The staff are working tirelessly to keep everyone safe against the outbreak. Hence, in these challenging times, Mahindra & Mahindra would like to recognise their efforts and thank them through the special finance schemes formulated to make the process of buying a Mahindra product easier. Mahindra recently launched a new online sales platform, Own-Online.

Veejay Nakra further added that the company is happy to extend the offers from just individuals working in healthcare or government departments to other providers such as pharmacy staff, journalists and even vegetable or milk suppliers. Mahindra & Mahindra is the first name to introduce an automotive finance scheme for such a diverse category of individuals.

Notable highlights of the scheme include ‘Own now and Pay in 2021’, up to eight years of funding, up to 100 per cent road funding, a moratorium of 90 days, waiver of processing fees by up to 50 per cent for doctors, etc. Another inclusion is the unique opportunity to own a BS6 Mahindra Pick Up by paying the same EMI that was applicable for its BS4 counterpart. Of course, there are certain terms and conditions applicable to each case. They would be shared upon consulting the nearest Mahindra dealership.

Several automakers operating in the country have announced their support to medical staff in the fight against coronavirus. However, the Indian automotive industry has not received enough support from authorities in concern despite contributing wholeheartedly to various state- and central-level COVID-19 relief funds.
