As a part of its proposed expansion of commercial vehicle portfolio, Mahindra has unveiled a pair of light commercial vehicles today. The Mahindra Supro Maxitruck and Supro Van are slotted above the Maxximo Plus and Maxximo Van respectively.
Exterior Design
The Supro Maxitruck is pitted against Tata Ace Mega.The duo’s design could be described as an evolution of the Maxximo. The front fascia sports neat clear lens rectangular headlamps. When viewed from rear, both the cargo and people carrying variants look pretty similar to their Maxximo counterparts.
Interior Design
The dashboard gets beige treatment.The dashboard derives several components with the Jeeto but is finished in dual-tone beige with AC control knobs arranged in a triangular fashion.
Powertrain Specs
The latest models which are based on a new commercial vehicle platform employ the turbocharged direct injection version of the Maxximo’s 909 cc diesel engine which produces 43 hp and 98 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Both BS-III and BS-IV variants are on offer. It has a top speed of 95 kmph and a payload capacity of 1000 kg.
Mileage
In its Van avatar, the Supro is claimed to deliver a fuel economy of 23.5 kmpl. The load carrying variant is good for 22.4 kmpl.
Features
The passenger carrying derivative can accommodate 8 passengers (including the driver) in 2+3+3 configuration. The rear seats face each other and can be accessed through a sliding door like in the Omni.
The Supro family is available in three variants namely T2, T4 and T6. The top-end T6 comes equipped with power steering, and AC while the mid-level T4 gets power steering. Other noteworthy features include mobile charger, floor console with bottle holders, dual-LSPV brakes, and front collision impact absorbing structure.

The Mahindra Supro Maxitruck and Van are aimed at commercial sector customers as well as families (van) who want more powerful, faster and better equipped work horse with higher payload capacity than the Maxximo Plus series. The van is positioned as a viable upgrade option for Maruti Omni and Eeco customers.
