The Mahindra Supro Maxitruck has just been launched at a starting price of INR 4.25 lakhs (ex-showroom, Thane). The SCV (Small Commercial Vehicle) is equipped with useful features like power steering, AC, mobile charging point, bottle holders and so on.
In an attempt to educate its prospective customers about the Supro Maxitruck’s advantages over its primary rival, the Tata Ace, Mahindra has come up with a partially animated short film in multiple regional languages. While highlighting the key features of the Supro, the promo video also takes a dig at the Ace.
The video features assortment of talking cargo boxes that are longing for a comfortable and fast ‘Maxitruck’. The video demonstrates the advantages of a powerful engine (43 hp), long cargo box, high fuel efficiency (22.4 kmpl), payload capacity (1,000 kg) and good top speed (95 kmph).
Based on a new commercial vehicle platform, the Supro Maxitruck is powered by the turbocharged version of the Maxximo Plus’ 909 cc twin-cylinder diesel engine. Mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, the new motor delivers 43 hp and 98 Nm of torque.
Targeted at Tata Ace Mega, the Mahindra Supro would be relying on its aesthetics, equipment and fuel economy to make a strong case for itself. A 8-seater Surpro Van is also on sale.
