Scheduled to enter markets in May 2013, the vehicle will come in on the Verito platform. Pricing of the Vibe is expected to be in the INR 6 lakh category, reports ET. Verito Vibe, as the new hatchback will be called will possess a 1.5 liter Renault diesel engine that is also seen in the M&M Verito. Vibe will measure below 4 meters in length so as to take advantage of lower excise duties of 12% as against the 24-27% excise that is applicable on vehicles measuring above 4 meters.

M&M launched a refreshed version of the Verito sedan in August 2012. Of this particular model, the company sells a total of 1500 units per month on average, and this is what has inspired the company to launch a hatchback based on the sedan to attract buyers.

Just like Honda has Brio and Amaze, Maruti has Swift and DZire, Mahindra has Vibe and Verito. The upcoming Vibe is developed, designed and planned by M&M engineers. Images here are renders, credit to WheeloSphere.
