It is likely that Mahindra XEV 7e will be using the 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs, as available with XEV 9e and BE 6

With goals to dominate the electric segment, Mahindra is busy expanding its EV portfolio. The company recently introduced the BE 5 and XEV 9e, which will be available for bookings from 14th Feb. Mahindra is also looking to launch the electric version of XUV700, expected to go on sale as the XEV 7e.

Mahindra XEV 7e (XUV700 Electric / XUV.e8) – Design and features

In its concept form, the electric version of XUV700 was presented as XUV.e8. However, considering the names of recent EV launches and trademark filings, the electric version of XUV700 is likely to be called XEV 7e. In a recent leaked video, the production version of XEV 7e has been revealed. Although it looks like an animated video, the details are likely to be the same as that of the production-spec model.

One can see the triangular headlamp housing, which is the same as the XEV 9e. Another similarity with the 9e is the closed-off grille. XEV 7e has full width lighting and inverted L-shaped DRLs. The DRL setup is slightly different on 9e, although both formats have similar vibes. Bumper section is new for XEV 7e and it looks more robust in comparison to that of 9e.

Beyond the front fascia, most of the styling bits are largely the same as the ICE XUV700. However, the side profile appears distinctive with the new design for the alloy wheels. Wheels and tyres are designed to reduce drag, which in turn will improve efficiency and range. At the rear, most of the features are similar to the existing XUV700.

Mahindra XEV 7e – Performance, range

As of now, powertrain details of XEV 7e have not been officially revealed. But it is likely that XEV 7e will be using the battery packs from the BE 5 and XEV 9e. These SUVs have a 59-kWh battery pack with the Pack One variant and a 79-kWh unit with the Pack Three variant.
