Mahindra XUV300 gets more features than rivals – Sunroof, 7 Airbags

New gen Tivoli is the smallest car made by SsangYong till date. Mahindra’s South Korean subsidiary made the Tivoli platform, considering India in mind as well. And that reason is the new XUV300. Previously codenamed S201, Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV launch is scheduled for February 2019.

For it’s newest and last product launch for FY19, following Marazzo MPV and Alturas, the company has borrowed multiple features that have helped Tivoli gain recognition as a top notch efficient compact SUV with brilliant safety features.

At the time of Ssangyong Tivoli’s launch it was announced – ‘Every trim level of the Tivoli crossover includes Smart Steer, which controls steering effort in three modes (Normal, Comfort, and Sport.) depending on the driver’s tastes.’ Mahindra XUV300 too will feature smart steer technology. This feature will allow you to change steering response as per your driving convenience. All at the touch of a button.

Interiors have a dual tone black and beige colour theme and offer premium features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, voice controls, and leather seating.

Dr Pawan Goenka and Mr Rajan Wadhera at the name reveal event of Mahindra XUV300.

In compliance with Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP) norms, Mahindra XUV300 will have advanced safety features such as 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alerts, reverse parking sensors, seat belt reminder and ISOFIX anchor points. All variants of XUV300 will have these features as standard.

XUV300 has chrome accents on the front grille and headlamp housing, which enhance its overall appeal. New TVC has revealed black A, B, C pillars, which provide a floating roof effect to XUV300. Rear section has attractive split tail lamp and prominent bumper with faux skid plate.

It is expected that XUV300 will be powered by a 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine that makes 123 PS power and 300 Nm torque. This is the same engine that is being used in Marazzo. Engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or AMT transmission. Petrol variant will also be available at launch and it will have a 1.2 litre turbocharged engine that delivers 120 bhp power.

Once launched, it will take on the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, in the sub 4 meter SUV segment. Expect prices to start in the Rs 7 lakh region.
