Mahindra XUV300 SUV diesel Auto bookings open – No petrol AMT

Following the outstanding sales performance of Mahindra XUV300, which averages at around 5,000 units per month, the company is now getting ready to launch XUV300 AMT.

Mahindra XUV300 AMT will launch next month. It is estimated that the AMT option will be offered on all variants excluding the base W4 variant. This launch will help in boosting sales of the XUV300 even further.

Mahindra XUV300 AMT sees no change either in its exterior or interior design. It sports projector headlamps with LED DRLs along with dual tone roof rails and 17” diamond cut alloys while interiors are done up in leatherette upholstery.

In terms of infotainment, the XUV300 AMT receives the same 7” touchscreen infotainment system offering Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and GPS navigation as is seen on its manual counterpart while safety features include a total of 7 airbags, parking sensors in the front, disc brakes and central locking along with roll over mitigation.

Like the Mahindra XUV300, the AMT version will also be powered by the same diesel engine option. Petrol XUV300 is not expected to get AMT option as of now. The 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine offers 110 PS power and 200 Nm torque while the 1.5 liter diesel engine is capable of 116 PS power and 300 Nm torque.

Manual 6 speed option will continue to be on offer. The AMT unit is sourced from Magneti Marelli, the Italian automotive component manufacturer. This is a temporary arrangement with the company set to replace this with a torque converter from Aisin once the XUV300 BS VI variant is launched in India.

Mahindra XUV300 AMT will be the third sub compact SUV to be offered with an AMT unit following the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Tata Nexon both of which get 5 speed AMT and 6 speed AMT respectively. EcoSport gets 6 speed Auto while Hyundai Venue gets 7 speed DCT.

The new Mahindra XUV300 AMT will see an increase in price as compared to its manual variant by around Rs.30,000-50,000. Mahindra XUV300 AMT will compete with Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT, Tata Nexon AMT, Hyundai Venue DCT and Ford EcoSport AT.
