The Mahindra XUV500 AT has been launched in Kenya to make the crossover appealing to a wider audience base. Apart from introducing the new variant, the Indian automaker has also opened a regional office in the African nation with an objective of enhancing its presence there.
Like the manual variant, the new XUV500 AT will be distributed in Kenya by official importer Xylon Motors which is a part of Simba Corporation.
The AT variant continues to be powered by the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine which puts out 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. The 6-speed unit is sourced from Transmission specialist AISIN of Japan. The XUV500 AT in Kenya is available in two trims – W8 FWD and W10 AWD.
The XUV500 AT starts at 3.5 million Kenyan shillings (around INR 23.29 lakhs). The clutchless XUV500 will be available across Mahindra’s Kenyan dealerships from June 4th.
Mahindra has been aggressively expanding its international product portfolio of late. Not long ago, the automaker introduced the automatic XUV500 in Australia.
