New XUV500 Sportz edition will be based on the W8 trim and characterised by predominantly red decals and recolouring around the SUV. Subtle red theme on body colour highlights front fog lamps, door handles and alloy wheels. XUV500 Sportz edition will also carry ‘Sportz’ badging and screaming decal on the sides of the car.
Cosmetic touch up extends inside the cabin as well. Leather seats come in new design, arm rests are restyled and safety tech like front, side and curtain airbags, reverse camera and automatic rain sensing wipers are added too. Mahindra XUV500 Sportz variant receives a 6” infotainment display with GPS, and automatic climate control. Usual interior theme of beige base in white cars is now made optional against black interiors for white body colour.
No mechanical changes will be given to Sportz model of XUV500. The 2.2 litre mHawk engine produces max. power of 140 bhp at 3,750 rpm and peak torque of 330 Nm between 1,600 and 2,800 rpm. As of now, only 6 speed manual transmission is available, but automatic gearbox is expected to be offered soon in Mahindra XUV500.
All these will be given in XUV500 Sportz version for a price difference of about Rs. 50,000 to Rs, 75,000 from the W8 spec. This 10 to 15 lakh segment SUV has had very good reception since its inception in 2011.
