Mahindra XUV500 Automatic to launch tomorrow [Update]

Mahindra XUV500 facelift

Four years and still rocking, Mahindra XUV500 7-seater SUV is all set to get an automatic transmission.

Update – 24-11-2015

The Mahindra XUV500 Automatic is finally getting launched tomorrow. More details on the 6-speed transmission would be available at the time of launch.

Mahindra XUV500 with sunroof was recently spied on test. Apart from sunroof, 2015 Mahindra XUV500 will be embellished with edgy headlamps, finer grille and brushed up bumpers on front fascia, while side profile will benefit from sportier alloy wheels; all of which are still camouflaged on the test mule.

Interior of new Mahindra XUV500 facelift will receive minor refurbishment and add a sunroof (in top-end W8 variant).

No doubt overall appeal will be enhanced just like the case of new Mahindra Scorpio but probably not as much. Rear end of the Sport Utility Vehicle will remain mostly same except for hosting new chrome garnish on the tailgate.

Power plant, the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, is not expected to receive any special treatment for better power, torque, mileage or emission. It would continue to push out 140 HP max power and 330 Nm peak torque. However, the mill may be mated to automatic transmission apart from the familiar 6-speed manual gearbox. It is unclear if auto box will be offered in 4-Wheel Drive variant, we expect the same in Front Wheel Drive model only.
