Successor to the XUV700, the recently launched XUV7XO gets a more exciting profile and a range of new features

Mahindra recently launched the updated version of XUV700, which has been renamed as per the brand’s new naming convention. XUV7XO is available in the price range of Rs 13.66 lakh to Rs 24.11 lakh. While XUV7XO is fully loaded, budget-oriented customers will be more interested in knowing about the features available with the base variant. Here’s a quick overview of the same.

Mahindra XUV7XO base AX variant – Powertrain options

Both the 2.0-litre turbo petrol and the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine options are available with the base AX variant of XUV7XO. However, only the 6-speed manual transmission option is available with both engines on the AX trim. These engine options are the same as earlier. They are also available with 6-speed AT, which can be accessed with the higher variants of XUV7XO.

In terms of performance, the 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit generates 200 hp and 380 Nm of peak torque. The turbo diesel unit generates 182 hp. Torque output is 420 Nm with the 6MT and 450 Nm with the 6AT. Diesel AT variants get AWD with the AX7 Tech 7-seater and AX7 Luxury 7-seater variants.

XUV7XO AX – Colour options, design

Mahindra XUV7XO is available in seven colour options. The base AX variant gets only five colours – Everest White, Nebula Blue, Midnight Black, Galaxy Grey and Stealth Black. The two colours missing with the AX variant are Desert Myst and Ruby Velvet. The five colours for the base AX trim are the same for both the petrol and diesel variants.

While the top variants of XUV7XO are surely more desirable, even the base AX variant packs in a comprehensive range of features. Key exterior features include Bi-LED projector headlamps with DRLs, clear lens LED taillamps and electrically adjustable ORVMs. There’s follow me headlamps, shark fin antenna, smart door handles, roof rails and rear spoiler. XUV7XO base AX variant gets R17 steel wheels with full sized wheel covers.

Equipment list, safety kit

Inside, even the base variant gets a Coast-to-Coast triple screen layout. However, the base variant misses out on the sunroof (Skyroof™). Other premium features available with the base AX variant include Adrenox connectivity suite, Alexa built-in with ChatGPT, smart watch connectivity and Type-C and Type-A USB chargers. Also, a 12V charging port in 3rd row, front arm rest with storage, day and night IRVM, rear AC vents (2nd and 3rd row) and steering mounted controls.

The driver seat comes with 6-way manual adjustability. Height adjustable seat belts are provided for the driver and front passenger. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electric power steering, push button start, tyre position display, all 4 power windows and one touch down driver door power window.

XUV7XO base AX variant does not get ADAS, but the safety kit is still pretty robust. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold control, hill descent control and cruise control.

As is evident, Mahindra XUV7XO base AX variant promises good value for budget-oriented customers. However, higher variants of XUV7XO have a lot more to offer. Some entirely new experiences worth trying with the higher variants come with features such as a 540° surround view monitor, Quiet Mode, ADAS dynamic visualization, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, vehicle noise compensation, Dolby Vision and Atmos and multi-zone ambient lighting.
