Mahindra has officially announced its next premium SUV, positioning it as a bold new trendsetter built to elevate the XUV700 legacy. With the XUV700 already crossing 300,000+ owners in just four years, the upcoming model aims to push the boundaries even further. Mahindra promises a significant leap in design, technology, comfort and performance—strengthening its leadership in the premium SUV space and setting the stage for a new benchmark in the segment.
The teaser reveals only a part of the front headlight, front grille and rear LED tail light for now, but it’s clear that Mahindra is gearing up to introduce a more feature-rich, more premium, and more technologically advanced iteration of its flagship ICE SUV.
Mahindra XUV7XO (XUV700 Facelift)
While Mahindra has shown only the exterior outline in its teaser, earlier exclusive spy shots had already offered a closer look at the updated cabin. The XUV7XO will get a new two-spoke steering wheel, expected to feature an illuminated Twin Peaks logo, finished in a premium dual-tone brown-and-black wrap.
The dashboard will also see major enhancements, with soft-touch brown leatherette, redesigned central AC vents with chrome accents, and the addition of features like an auto-dimming IRVM and a premium Harman Kardon audio system. The test mule spotted earlier was a diesel-automatic variant, as indicated by the gear selector and the rear “Diesel” sticker.
However, the biggest interior highlight remains the triple-screen setup, mirroring what Mahindra introduced in the XEV9e. This includes three 12.3-inch displays — one for the infotainment system, one for the instrument cluster, and one dedicated to the co-driver. Rear passengers will continue to rely on BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) entertainment.

Exterior Changes: Sharper Look, New Lighting, More Features
The facelifted XUV7XO is set to receive a refreshed fascia with a more premium presence. Expect a new grille, twin-barrel projector LED headlamps, redesigned DRLs, a revised tail-lamp signature, and possibly multiple fog lamps with cornering functionality.
While the teaser keeps these elements hidden, the design language is expected to be noticeably more modern and aligned with Mahindra’s newer SUVs. Level-2 ADAS, all-wheel disc brakes, 360-degree camera and other key safety features will continue, while Mahindra may introduce a heads-up display (HUD) as part of the upgrade.
Powertrain Options Will Continue
The XUV7XO will retain its existing engine options – which are the most powerful engine options in the segment
• 2.0L Turbo Petrol
• 2.2L Turbo Diesel
Even after more than 4 years of launch, there is no SUV on offer that has managed to deliver performance similar to the XUV700. Gearbox choices will remain the same as well — 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. Mahindra is likely to fine-tune refinement, NVH and drivability, but a complete mechanical overhaul is not expected. The XUV700 has been one of Mahindra’s most successful modern SUVs, and with competition intensifying, the XUV7XO update is arriving at a crucial time.
