Mahindra is on the verge of facelifting its prized possession, the XUV700. Only, it will be renamed XUV7XO, bringing it in line to its newer naming schemes which started with XUV3XO. The global debut of Mahindra XUV7XO will happen on January 5th 2026 and ahead of that, let’s go through what we know so far about the upcoming Mahindra XUV7XO.

1. Exterior Design Changes
For starters, Mahindra XUV7XO is a facelift of XUV700 and a slight redesign is expected. New headlights and LED DRL elements have been spied along with new grille, sportier bumper and a new set of alloy wheels. At the rear, XUV7XO might share LED tail lights and bumper with the recently launched XEV 9S.

2. Triple Screen Dashboard
Mahindra’s first-ever triple screen layout was seen with XEV 9e and then XUV 9S. Now, we will see this triple 12.3-inch screen setup with XUV7XO as well, making it the first mid-size ICE SUV to get this feature. The third screen is dedicated to co-driver and can be used for a either infotainment or entertainment.

3. New Interior Elements
For the first time, Mahindra is offering a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo on one of its ICE vehicles. We can also see a new Beige and Brown interior theme which extends to dashboard, centre console, seat upholstery and even door trims.

4. Harman Kardon Audio
While XUV700 came with Sony audio system, Mahindra is switching to Harman Kardon premium audio system with XUV7XO. As opposed to the 12-speaker Sony system, this new Harman Kardon system might pack 16-speakers with 1400W of peak power along with Dolby Atmos support and others.

5. New Interior Features over XUV700
While XUV700 was a well-equipped SUV, there were some obvious misses as well. XUV7XO aims to fix them. Possible added features over XUV700 include rear ventilated seats, an auto-dimming IRVM, powered co-driver seat which allows for electrically operated Boss Mode, rear sun shades, rear wireless charging pad, BYOD tablet docking system, powered tailgate, a HUD and others.

6. New Trim Hierarchy
Currently, Mahindra XUV700 trim hierarchy starts from MX and tops out at AX7L. However, with XUV7XO, Mahindra is offering a new top spec trim level called AX9 and AX9L, as confirmed by recent spy shots. AX9L will also come with 4WD layout, paired with Diesel AT engine and gearbox combination.

7. Same Powertrain Combinations
Mahindra XUV7XO is expected to carry forward the same engine and gearbox combinations offered with XUV700. This is not a bad thing as the 2.0L Turbo Petrol with up to 200 PS of peak power and 2.2L Turbo Diesel with up to 185 PS of peak power. 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options will be offered.
