Mahindra has released a fresh teaser of its upcoming premium SUV, the XUV7XO, offering the clearest look yet at the vehicle’s interior direction. Scheduled for launch on January 5, 2026, the XUV7XO is positioned as a significant step forward from the XUV700, rather than a routine facelift. With pre-bookings opening on December 15, 2025, the latest teaser shifts focus from exterior styling to the cabin, highlighting several high-end features aimed at elevating comfort, technology and overall in-cabin experience.
Triple-Screen Setup Takes Centre Stage
One of the most notable highlights from the new teaser is the confirmation of a triple-screen layout inside the XUV7XO. Similar to Mahindra’s XEV 9e, the setup is expected to include three 12.3-inch displays — one each for the infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and co-driver display. This layout firmly places the XUV7XO among the most tech-forward SUVs in its segment and signals Mahindra’s intent to push digital sophistication beyond what the current XUV700 offers.
Boss Mode and Rear Seat Comfort Focus
The teaser also confirms the presence of an Electric Boss Mode, further reinforcing the XUV7XO’s premium positioning. This feature is expected to allow enhanced front passenger seat adjustment to maximise rear-seat legroom, catering to chauffeur-driven buyers. Complementing this is the addition of rear window sun blinds, a feature that adds to comfort, privacy and overall cabin refinement, especially for rear occupants.

New Steering Wheel, Ambient Lighting and Interior Theme
Another key highlight is the introduction of a new steering wheel design, likely a two-spoke unit featuring Mahindra’s illuminated Twin Peaks logo, as seen in earlier spy shots. The teaser also hints at sophisticated ambient lighting, suggesting a more layered and premium lighting setup compared to the outgoing model.
A new interior colour theme is also evident, with shades that appear to include beige and maroon tones. This marks a clear departure from the darker interiors of the current XUV700 and aligns the XUV7XO with a more luxury-oriented cabin ambience.
BYOD Entertainment Continues for Rear Passengers
Mahindra appears to be continuing with its BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) approach for rear-seat entertainment. The teaser shows dedicated fixtures for mounting tablets or devices for rear passengers, offering flexibility without integrating fixed rear screens. This setup allows users to personalise their entertainment experience while keeping the cabin layout clean and adaptable.
Powertrain Line-up to Stay the Same
Mechanically, the XUV7XO is expected to retain the same powertrain options as the XUV700. These include the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engines, paired with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes. While no major mechanical changes are anticipated, Mahindra is likely to fine-tune NVH levels, refinement and drivability as part of the update.
Pre-Bookings Start Today
Mahindra has clarified that pre-bookings opens today, December 15, 2025, with a token amount of Rs 21,000, are primarily meant to secure an early place in the booking queue. Customers will not be able to select variants, transmission or fuel options at this stage. Full bookings with detailed configuration choices are expected to open closer to the official launch on January 5, 2026.
With its triple-screen cabin, electric boss mode, upgraded interiors and comfort-focused additions, the XUV7XO is shaping up to be a substantial evolution over the XUV700, aimed squarely at buyers seeking a more premium, tech-rich SUV experience.
