Launched in Indonesia by Honda MotoGP Racing Team riders Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez, 2016 Honda CBR150R is now on sale at a base price of IDR 32.5 million (INR 1.65 lakhs), the top end variant with Repsol Honda MotoGP livery is priced at IDR 33.3 million (INR 1.68 lakhs).
Powered by the same engine which is seen on the existing CBR150R, but refined to deliver smoother acceleration and better performance, it delivers 18.28 bhp power and 12.66 Nm torque via new 6 speed transmission.
After launch, both Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez rode the bike at the Sentul Racing Circuit, Kabupaten Bogor in West Java. Below is what MotoGP champion Marquez has to say about the new 150 cc single cylinder sportsbike from Honda.
Honda has also introduced a lighter chassis and suspension setup for better handling and maneuverability. 2016 Honda CBR150R also receives a longer swingarm by 13mm which results in better stability while the engine is tilted forward by 40 degrees for better forward weight.
Besides mechanical updates, 2016 Honda CBR150R also receives cosmetic updates in the form of a lower rear seat cowl and a more aggressive front fairing. Headlights are full LEDs while a digital LCD instrument cluster is also evident. Sportier rider seating, better placement of footpeg position, new alloy wheels and a new exhaust system are also to be noted.
