Maruti Car Discounts March 2020 – Alto, WagonR, Swift, Baleno, Ciaz, Ertiga

Maruti Suzuki ARENA and NEXA showrooms are offering massive discounts for their outgoing BS4 diesel models

Maruti Suzuki has already announced its plans to go the ‘petrol way’ with the advent of BS6 emission norms from the start of April 2020. As per rules, no BS4 vehicle can be registered from 1 April 2020 and OEMs operating in multiple categories are offering good deals (depending on dealerships) on existing BS4 models to clear out the leftover stock. Similarly, Maruti Suzuki’s ARENA and NEXA outlets are offering a varied range of discounts for the outgoing BS4 diesel models.

The Indian automotive brand had updated most of its petrol line-up to BS6 specifications earlier last year, but continued to sell the BS4-compliant 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor sourced from Fiat and the higher 1.5-litre DDiS unit.

Discount benefits for the BS4 diesel models are in the range of Rs 67,000-86,000 while certain BS6 petrol models are also offered at good deals for the month of March 2020. As mentioned before, the discount rate is dealership-dependent. Here are the Maruti Suzuki BS4 and BS6 discounts for the month:

Starting with BS6 ARENA models, the entry-level Maruti Alto 800 is offered with total benefits ranging up to Rs 48,000. The evergreen hatchback will finally get a replacement in 2020. The Maruti Celero gets benefits worth an extra Rs 5,000 over the Alto 800. The Maruti Eeco van and the newer S-Presso (replaces the Alto K10) get benefits of around Rs 37,500.

On the other hand, the Swift and Dzire boast of benefits worth up to Rs 60,000 and 65,000, respectively. Finally, BS4 diesel models such as the Swift, Dzire and Brezza are being sold with offers ranging from 67,000 up to Rs 86,000.

Coming to BS6 NEXA models, the pre-facelift Maruti Ignis hatchback (the company has started calling it an ‘urban SUV’ for some odd reason) get up to Rs 40,000 worth of benefits. Meanwhile, the offers for the Maruti Baleno premium hatchback remain more or less the same as the Ignis. The Maruti Ciaz sedan is eligible for overall discounts up to Rs 45,000. The newer Maruti XL6 MPV gets only an exchange bonus worth Rs 15,000.

Even though Maruti Suzuki is shifting its entire focus to petrol-powered cars, the demand for diesel vehicles is still strong in the country. This is particularly evident from the latest sales reports. For instance, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza (which comes only in petrol avatar now) has been beaten by the Hyundai Venue (which is available in both petrol and diesel formats) on the sales report of February 2020.
