Kerala is an important market for Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL). In this state, Alto 800 is Maruti Suzuki’s highest selling car. On the first day of the Malayalam month of Chingam, MSIL rolled out a Maruti Alto 800 Onam edition with 15 new features. Buyers in Kerala will be able to avail of this special model at a nominal price of INR 17,350 over the showroom price of their selected model.
More than a limited edition car, Onam Limited Edition is a package; which will offer buyers a set of new features. Maruti Suzuki claims that the price of Onam package (Rs 17,350), is actually 26% lesser if a buyer was to install the same new features without opting for the Onam package.
Maruti Alto 800 Onam Limited Edition Rear QtrMaruti Alto 800 Onam Limited Edition receives features such as music system with speakers, reverse parking sensor, designer seat covers and embroidered cushion among others. Significant Onam graphics and decals are also included into the design of this special edition. As is the case with other limited edition offerings from MSIL, the Alto 800 Onam Edition also sees no mechanical updates but continues to be powered by the same 796cc, 3 cylinder engine that powers its regular Alto 800.
Onam is a special festival in Kerala when the commemoration of Vamana avatara of Vishnu and homecoming of mythical King Mahabali is celebrated. The company announced delivery of 3,000 cars in various segments in a single day while out of this, 1000 units were of the Alto 800. Each of these models was delivered on the first day of the Malayalam month of Chingam.
The initiative offered by MSIL comes after Volkswagen also announced special offers on its Polo and Vento models to all buyers in Kerala along with a gold coin on every booking.
