Maruti Suzuki India Limited has looked upon its entry level small car Alto as its best selling car in the country for the past 14 years. It was this model that recently crossed the 38 lakh milestone in terms of cumulative wholesales and now the company has introduced a new feature upgrade.
The fully loaded Maruti Suzuki Alto VXi+ gets SmartPlay Studio with a 17.8cm touchscreen infotainment system supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets safety features that include dual front airbags, ABS and EBD. The SmartPlay Studio is the latest in connected infotainment wherein it offers top end features and enhances driving experience with multiple media support.
The touchscreen infotainment system is seen with easy and customizable graphical user interface while its smartphone connectivity allows for seamless integration on various platforms.
Exclusive to the Alto 800 VXi+ is also an aero edge design, dual toned interiors and a higher level of fuel efficiency. Its safety features also include reverse parking sensors, seat belt reminder for driver and front passenger, speed alert system. The new Alto also complies with the latest crash and pedestrian safety regulation by Bharat NCAP.
The Alto VXi+ is priced at Rs.3,80,209 and is powered by a BS6 compliant engine offering 47.3 bhp power at 6,000 rpm and 69 Nm torque at 3,500 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual transmission and offering high fuel efficiency of 22.05 kmpl.

In the past month, Maruti Suzuki posted sales of a total of 1,50,630 units. The Maruti Suzuki Alto was the fourth most sold model in the company lineup following sales of the Swift, Baleno and DZire. Alto sales stood at 15,086 units, down 19.08 percent as against sales of 18,643 units sold in November 2018. Sales of the Alto were also lower by 15.73 percent as compared to sales of 17,903 units sold in October 2019, the month which saw marginally higher sales in view of the festive season.
