As mandated BSVI company deadline inches closer, it’s raining BSVI cars. With Maruti Suzuki India being the country’s biggest player when it comes to numbers, the company has consistently over the last few months launched BSVI variants. Maruti Alto 800 BS6 was already launched. Today, the Maruti Alto S-CNG BS6 variant enters the market.
The newest launch from Maruti’s large small car repertoire offers mileage of 31.59 kms/kg. With emission norm upgrades a major requirement to survive in today’s market, this is the first BS6 compliant CNG vehicle from MSIL. Owing to its wide range of small cars in the market, Maruti Suzuki resultantly offers the widest range of S-CNG technology cars.

Maruti Suzuki’s S-CNG range works towards reducing oil import and improving share of natural gas usage in India. This number is expected to grow from 6.2 percent to 15 percent by 2030. MSIL S-CNG vehicles feature dual interdependent ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and intelligent injection system. Tuned to specifics, these vehicles are calibrated to maximise performance and improve drivability across terrains. Maruti Suzuki Alto was the first vehicle to become BS6 compliant. MSIL has already sold 100,000 units of BS6 compliant Alto in India.
MSIL has attempted to keep Alto relevant over the many years it’s been available. In all, Alto has crossed the 38 lakh sales landmark.
