Maruti Suzuki India is going through a low sales period. After registering stable sales for about 8 months, sales have now started to decline by about 20% a month on average. Back in April this year, Maruti announced the launch of Alto facelift. Apart from updating the Alto in design, Maruti also added new safety features. It also got a new BS6 petrol engine. Today, Maruti Suzuki announced the launch of Alto CNG variants.

2019 Maruti Alto CNG variants on offer are Lxi and Lxi (0). Delhi Ex-sh price for Lxi and Lxi (O) is listed as Rs. 4,10,570/- and Rs. 4,14,190/-respectively. This is about Rs 50,000 more than the regular petrol powered variants in Lxi and Lxi (0) trim. Alto CNG variant is not on offer with any other trim.

Alto 800 CNG

Maruti Suzuki Alto carries the title of being the bestselling car in the country. These new updates along with CNG variant launch, should bring in even better sales. 2019 Maruti Suzuki Alto has already been updated to BS6 engine.

2019 Maruti Alto comes with exterior and interior updates that include a new front grille, hexagonal mesh, new bumpers and fenders and body coloured ORVMs and what is also called a dynamic new Aero Edge design.

Interiors are in two tone black and beige color scheme with AC vents, Smart Play Dock infotainment system, basic audio system with radio, Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in and a host of safety features such as keyless entry, anti lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, reverse sensors, driver airbag, seat belt reminder and speed alert function.

2019 Maruti Alto 800 is powered by a 796cc, 3 cylinder petrol engine offering 48 hp power at 6,000 rpm and 69 Nm torque at 3,500 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. Power output of the CNG variant is slightly lower. The engine offers fuel efficiency of 22.05 kmpl and being BS VI compliant, Nitrogen Oxide emissions are reduced by 25 percent. Mileage of CNG variant has not been revealed yet. The new Alto competes with the Renault Kwid and Datsun Redi-GO.
