Maruti Alto to revive company brand image but whats new in the small car
Maruti Suzuki is yet to launch their new Alto in India which is expected revive their brand image, but looking from the first images of the new Alto, it is difficult to understand how. Launch of the new Alto 800 is expected to cause a major turnabout where Maruti Suzuki sales are concerned. But, the core DNA of this small car from Maruti looks the same. In the end, its the same small car with new makeup.
This new model will come in with a brand new design, better transmission and enhanced performance while fuel economy will be at a premium. Estimates reveal that the Alto 800 is the second most fuel efficient petrol car after the Tata Nano and it is due to all these reasons that greater demand is forecasted.
In a week’s time, the new Maruti Alto will arrive. Maruti dealers in India have started accepting bookings for the new Alto 800 already. Maruti Suzuki has been banking on their best seller Alto ever since it was launched, but has been suffering from falling sales in recent times. Sales of Alto which stood at 35,000 units in March 2012 fell to just 10,488 units in August this year.
In-depth consumer feedback and market survey has gone into the design and development of Alto 800. The company has spent over Rs.270 crores while dealers have spent about Rs.200 crores on development and design of Alto 800 to cater to customer’s demands and hence the model is looked forward to with much optimism.
